Women In Logistics

Moving the industry forward

added Aug 25th, 2011

Moving forward, logistics will no longer be a man’s world – and we’re pretty excited by the prospect. Women make up approximately 46 percent of the U.S. workforce and yet, according to the U.S. Department of Labor, account for only six percent of the jobs in production, transportation and material moving occupations. While the logistics industry has historically recruited men, women have begun making important inroads.

The eleven women above have broken ground in an industry no longer considered just for men. Here at RBW they work along side men operating heavy equipment and performing job functions such as packaging and assembling and material handling, as well as filling leadership positions.

These are the new faces of Supply Chain Logistics.
