Logistics You Can Dance To |

Logistics can be difficult to define in finite terms. Because it is the art of creating order from chaos, of taking a multitude of moving parts and making them function as one, it can be difficult for those who don’t live with the idea of building these systems, these operational opportunities, to wrap their head around. We understand. Often when discussing business with friends, the banter seems to devolve into a litany of esoteric infrastructure examples and trucking metaphors. Describing the nature and function of the logistics business is hard. Or it was. Before UPS. The recent United Parcel Service ‘We Love Logistics’ ad campaign manages to distill, in less than a minute, the very nature of what we do. It illustrates, in space of a perky pop song, the necessity of product flow and time management. It shows, in the space of a single chorus and verse, how transportation, technology and customer care can simplify and streamline a business’s needs. UPS loves logistics. We do too. We also love UPS, because it has made explaining what we do and how we do it much easier. |
